AZUSA, Calif. --- Biola University freshman Abbie Wright has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference setter of the week for Sept. 18-24 as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Wright, a graduate of Santa Fe Christian School in Cardiff, helped lead the team to a pair of conference victories with two of the best matches of her young collegiate career.

Wright had 99 assists (14.1 a/g), 25 digs (3.6 d/g), seven kills, seven blocks and four aces at No. 19-ranked Biola won in four games at Vanguard and swept Westmont at home.

In the win at Vanguard, she had 59 assists (14.75 a/g), 11 digs, three aces and three assist blocks (1 solo). In the sweep of Westmont, Wright had 40 assists (13.3 a/g), 14 digs, 4 kills and 4 assist blocks.

Wright is fourth in the conference with 12.00 assists per game and is third with 516 total assists.

The Eagles, who are 9-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play, battle GSAC foe San Diego Christian College on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in Chase Gymnasium.
