CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- Lightning struck twice within 40 minutes during the women's soccer match between No. 22 Biola and No. 6 Lee University Saturday night in the final game of the Lady Flames Classic.
The first was a rocket goal of the foot of Natalie Thornton in the game's 25th minute. The second was a flash from a major southeastern storm which caused the game to be suspended in the 38th minute.
After a lengthy delay, the match was officially called after two hours of steady rain.
Unfortuantely for the upset-minded Eagles, the match has been declared a "no-contest" with no stats counting and will not be made up.
