CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- Three goals over a span of eight minutes early in the first half proved to be too much for the No. 22-ranked Biola women's soccer team to overcome in a 3-1 loss to No. 4 Lindsey Wilson College to open the Lady Flames Classic Friday night.

Lindsey Wilson, which improves to 8-1-0 on the season, picked up goals in the 10th, 13th and 18th minutes to sprint out to a quick lead.

The Eagles (4-1-1) struggled in the first half but played markedly better in the second, dominating play for the first 35 minutes of the new period.

Six minutes into the second half, senior Jordan Bishop was able to get the Eagles on the scoreboard with a brilliant header into the back of the net. It was Bishop's second tally of the season and came off a great corner kick by junior Brandi Johannsen.

Biola's strong play led to a number of other outstanding scoring opportunities, but each was snuffed out by the tough LWC defense or by goalkeeper Lisbeth Skjodt, who notched two of her three saves in the final half.

The Eagles close out the classic with a matchup against host and No. 6-ranked Lee University, which lost in overtime to No. 2-Azusa Pacific in the game following Biola's.
