The Biola Eagles (38-15) ended their season in Riverside on the campus of California Baptist at the NAIA Region II tournament as they fell to Concordia University in the Championship game by the score of 8-7.

Chris Weems blasted a two-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning to bring Biola within one but that was as close as they would come as they lose to the third seeded Eagles from Concordia for the second time in the tournament.

Biola trailed 8-2 as the two teams headed into the eighth inning before a late rally made things exciting.

With one out and runners at second and third, Adam Yoder drove a low linedrive to centerfield which was snared by Concordia's Daniel Robertson. Nick Dietzen was easily able to score from third and it appeared as though Tony Gonzalez would be able to move from second to third without issue. However, on appeal, the umpire ruled that Gonzalez left second early and called him out to end the inning.

Despite the setback, the Eagles managed to plate three runs in the bottom of the ninth to pull within one before Andrew Solo ended Biola's season with a clutch strikeout.

Jimmy Johnson got the start for Biola and went four innings, allowing three runs on six hits to record the loss before Garet Hill came in and pitched the next inning, allowing two more runs.

David Mirabal led the Eagle offense as he went 3-5 including his third homerun of the season, which start the eighth inning rally. Nick Dietzen also did his part by going 2-5 in the contest.

Ryan McKibben got the win for Concordia after pitching the fifth and sixth innings after taking over for starter John Tundis.

Charlie Douglas led the Concordia offense as he went 2-3 with three RBI and two runs scored.
