Matt McQueen hit a clutch sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to plate Tony Gonzalez which was good enough to knock off the heavily favored Lancers from California Baptist on Thursday in Riverside by the score of 8-7.

Kevin Fox got the start for the Eagles (37-14) and went four innings, allowing five runs on nine hits before Mike Casserly came in a gave up two runs on three hits in his two innings of work. Jonathan Young pitched the final 2.2 innings and dominated the Lancer hitters, only allowing one hit and striking out five to record the win.

Nick Dietzen was the hero on the offense for Biola as he belted a two-run bomb in the seventh inning to give the Eagles the two run lead. The game was later tied in the bottom of the eighth but McQueen's sacrifice gave the Eagles the lead for good.

Kyle Thomas started for the Lancers and went a solid 5.1 innings, allowing four runs, only one earned, on just one hit while striking out eight. Cory Allen pitched the final three innings to record the loss.

Steve Goins led the Cal Baptist offense with his 4-5 performance, which included a walk and two runs scored.

The Eagles return to playoff action at 3:00pm in Riverside as they take on Concordia University
