Things went a little better for the Biola University Eagles (36-14, 23-10 GSAC) today as they hung on to win the elimination game in Riverside, 10-9, against the Point Loma Nazarene University Sea Lions (32-20, 18-15 GSAC).

The Eagle offense was led by Matt McQueen who had three hits, including a homerun and a double, and three RBI on the day. In the 5th inning Hawkins Gebbers, Kris Cook, and McQueen had back-to-back-to-back homeruns off of Point Loma reliever Shane Kochon.

Garet Hill got the start for Biola and earned the win. He went seven innings, striking out seven batters while walking only one. Charlie Watson and Jonathan Young came out of the pen to pitch two combined scoreless innings of relief for the Eagles. Jonathan Young earned the save.

Kaohi Downing and Kellen Walker each had two hits and two RBI for the Sea Lions. Jesse Gill contributed to the offense with three hits, including a solo homerun, and three runs scored.

Point Loma starter, Jared Eskew, was charged with the loss. He lasted only 3.2 innings, giving up four runs, although only one was earned. He struck out four batters and walked three.

Biola will face off against the loser of today's 3pm game, between Cal Baptist University and Concordia University, tomorrow at 11am in Riverside.
