Biola's Four-Game Win Streak Snapped

Unable to ever climb out of another first half hole against the Sea Lions, Biola saw their four-game winning streak come to a halt in a 70-64 loss to Point Loma Nazarene Tuesday night in San Diego.

Biola (18-10, 10-8 GSAC) gave up over 50 first half points to the Sea Lions in their first meeting of the season in La Mirada and Point Loma again stifled the Eagle offense to lead by double digits 42-27.

The Eagles were able to control guard Matt Benson who went for 31 points in the first meeting, but this time Tim Kruge dominated the middle with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Casey Ortiz provided the outside punch for the Sea Lions (17-8, 12-6) hitting a trio of three-pointers and finishing with 15 points.

Biola managed to get the lead down from as many as 17 down to five with just over four minutes left to go but were unable to put the proverbial biscuit in the basket until only 52 seconds remained on the clock.

Junior forward Spencer Foster led the Eagles with 21 points and nine rebounds while reigning GSAC Player of the Week Brandon Warner continued his hot play by adding 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Unfortunately for the Biola fans, the rest of the Eagles made just 11 field goals on the night and Pt. Loma made seven more free throws and three's on the night to overcome the 40-34 rebounding edge for Biola.

The Eagles return to GSAC action Friday night as they travel down to Irvine to face the Eagles from Concordia University at 7:30.
