Records Broken in Long Beach

The Biola swim team competed this weekend in the PCSC Championships held at CSU Long Beach, which consisted of schools from NCAA DI, DII, DIII as well as schools from the NAIA. The Eagles walked away with three new school records.

“The Conference championship, because it includes schools from DI, DII, and DIII, is actually much more competitive than the NAIA Nationals, so I am very proud of our swimmers” said head swim coach, Eddie Shepard.

Sarah Warkentin broke her own record in the 50 free with a time of 25.18. Christina Piakak set a new record in the 100 fly with a time of 59:82 make her the first Biola woman to break 1:00 in the 100 fly. The womens 400 Free Relay team consisting of Christina Piakak, Shannon Lawrence, Jessica Cresap, and Sarah Warkentin also made a new school record with a time of 3:43.77.
