LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola outside hitter Meghan Scheenstra has been named to the 2006 NAIA All-American First-Team which was released Monday by the NAIA.

Scheenstra, a sophomore from Visalia, led the Golden State Athletic Conference with 5.82 kills per game, helping the Eagles to a 20-12 overall record and a fifth place finish in one of the toughest conferences in the nation.

Scheenstra posted four 30-plus kill performances this season including an amazing 31 kill performance in a three-game sweep of The Master's College. In addition, her season numbers shattered a number of school records as her totals of 629 kills, 5.82 kills per game and 1546 attack attempts were all new Biola records.

Scheenstra was one of five players from the GSAC on the 12-player first team. Other GSAC athletes were Fresno Pacific's Fabiana Leomil and Shu Lui and California Baptist's Verania Willis and Shi Fei.

Ana Mercardo from Missouri Baptist University was named the Tachikara-NAIA Player of the Year and Angela Montreuil from King college was named the Tachikara-NAIA Libero of the Year.
