LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola senior defender J.T. Searles has been named to the 2006 NAIA Men's Soccer All -American team as selected by the NAIA Men's Soccer All-American selection committee and announced last week.

Searles, a senior from Huntington Beach, helped anchor the Eagles' defense which surrendered just 17 goals in 16 games this season and posted six shutouts. He tallied four goals and adding four assists to lead Biola with 12 points on the year.

In his three years since transferring from the University of California at Berkley, Searles has amassed 16 goals and 11 assists.

Searles was one of just two players from the Golden State Athletic Conference with Concordia forward Jeff Clark joining the 11-man first team.

Forward Hjortur Hjartarson of Auburn University Montgomery in Alabama repeated as Brine-NAIA Player of the Year.

Biola ended the season with an overall record of 9-6-1, falling in overtime to Concordia in the first round of the NAIA Regional playoffs.
