GOLDEN, Colo. --- Biola dropped its second straight contest of Colorado School of Mines Holiday Classic, losing 65-54 to the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Saturday afternoon in Golden.
The Eagles (5-6 overall) struggled from the field for the second straight game, this time through the first half of the game.
Biola managed to hit just 5-of-29 from the field en route to scoring a season-low 13 points. However, Colorado Springs also shot poorly, hitting just six shots, but held a 22-13 lead at the half.
In the second half, the Eagles shot much better, but were unable to keep up with UCCS.
Biola was led by the 15 points of sophomore Megann Alberts and received 12 points from Elise Paty.
A trio of UCCS post players scored in double figures, led by the 15 points of center Tanya Tripp.
The Eagles return to conference play on Tuesday (Jan. 2) when they travel to The Master's College for a GSAC game at 5:30 p.m.
