SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. --- Sophomore Megann Alberts scored 22 points and and added eight rebounds to lead Biola's women's basketball team to a 61-55 win over Bethany University in front of a raucus crowd at the Bethany Pepsi Challenge Friday night.
Alberts had a field day, going 10-for-17 from the field to lead the Eagles. Fellow sophomore Summer Matthews added 13 points for Biola on 5-for-8 shooting from the field.
The game was close from the start until the Eagles broke a 42-42 tie with a short run and lead the rest of the way.
Monet Garrett led Bethany with 16 points.
The Eagles battle Pacific Union on Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. to close out the classic.
