Ball Earns All-American Honors with 26th Place Finish at NAIAs

Brian Ball Earned All-American Honors With a 26th Place Finish

LOUISVILLE --- Junior Brian Ball placed 26th overall with a time of 25:31, earning All-American honors at the 2006 NAIA Cross Country National Championships held at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ball posted the fourth fastest time of a runner from the GSAC and earned All-American honors for the second time in his career. Ball was an All-American as a sophomore, but missed all of last season and most of this year due to injury. This was just his second race of the season after placing eighth during the regional race on Nov. 4.

Virginia Intermont won its third men's title with a team score of 67 points while Concordia University (Calif.) finished second with 136 points. Virginia Intermont was paced by David Cheromei who claimed individual medalist honors in a time of 24:05.15.

On the women's side, junior Anna Thibodo finished 64th overall with a time of 19:14 while senior Brittany Gomez placed 109th in 19:37.

Simon Fraser won its ninth women's title after besting Cedarville University (Ohio) 73-92 points. Genevieve Binsfield of Minot State University (N.D.) took home individual honors with a time of 17:38.2.
