LA MIRADA, Calif. --- After battling through a pair of five-game matches already this season, Biola and Azusa Pacific will square off once again in 2006, this time in the first round of the NAIA Region II playoffs.

The No. 13-ranked Eagles and the No. 12-ranked Cougars will renew their rivalry in at the Felix Events Center in Azusa on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7:00 p.m.

The two regular season matches were epic battles. Azusa Pacific pulled off victories in both as the Cougars rebounded from 2-0 deficits in both matches to escape with 3-2 victories.

Azusa, which finished in a three-way tie for fourth in the GSAC with Biola and Point Loma Nazarene, was awarded the No. 4 seed in the regional tournament. Biola received the No. 5 seed while Pt. Loma took No. 6.

Fresno Pacific, which lost just one match this season, is the top seed and will host CalPac champ Menlo College. The No. 2 seed Concordia hosts No. 7 Vanguard and No. 3 California Baptist takes on No. 6 Point Loma.

First round victors face off in the regional semifinals on Friday, Nov. 17, at the site of the highest remaining seed with the finals taking place on Saturday at the same site.
