Biola Runs Win Streak to Five With Sweep of Embry-Riddle

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Sophomore Meghan Scheenstra had a match-high 17 kills and junior Brittany Wing added 11 to help No. 16-ranked Biola to a 30-16, 30-24, 30-16 sweep over Embry-Riddle University of Arizona on Saturday night.

The win was the fifth straight for Biola, which improves to 17-10 on the season. The match was the final one of the year for Embry-Riddle which finishes at 7-13.

Biola continued its trend of strong passing a great defense, recording eight blocks and holding Embry-Riddle to a .098 hitting percentage.

Scheenstra had 17 kills in 33 attempts and hit .485 overall. She also had two blocks and three digs.

Wing posted her second straight double-digit kill performance with 11, adding three blocks, eight digs and four assists.

Freshman setter Abbie Wright set a strong match, recording 40 assists. She also had seven aces, four digs and a kill.

Biola returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 31) for a GSAC match at San Diego Christian College at 7:00 p.m.
