Ruth Munoz had an incredible week to open the season at Concordia Irvine Kick-Off Classic. She helped lift the Eagles to a 3-2 record as a spark plug in the leadoff spot. The two losses were in one-run ballgames, too, so it's a great start for Head Coach Nikki Udria's squad.

She had eight hits in 14 at-bats, resulting in a .571 batting average. In total, she reached base 12 times on the week by adding four base-on-balls to her hit total. She led Biola with six runs scored, added an RBI and played shortstop in all five games.

Munoz was named to the all-tournament team. Paige Austin also made the all-tournament team.

The team has a three-week break now before they are back in action Feb. 21 at Freedom Field vs. Academy of Art.
