This week's Biola Athlete of the Week award was probably one of the most obvious winners we've ever had. Freshman catcher/infielder Kayla Neff had a remarkable week at the plate and helped Biola Softball to a 5-1 week to earn her first Biola Athlete of the Week honor.

If she continues to produce the way she did over the last seven days she could rack up quite a few of these, and other hardware, before her time at Biola is up.

Neff hit .526 is six games this week and drove in a team-high 10 runs. The next closest Eagles in RBI (in a week where just about everyone was producing offensively) had four.

The reason her week was so productive was because she was not just hitting for a high average, but she was slugging the ball all over (and out of) the park. Six of Neff's 10 hits went for extra bases as she hit four doubles and drove two balls out of the ball park. Through Biola's first 10 games of the season she's the only player to have left the yard (and she did it twice in one game).

The highlight of the week for her has to be the final game of the week. She helped lift the Eagles to a 12-3 run-rule victory over Antelope Valley and tied the program record with seven RBI in the game.

She and the Eagles are back into action quickly this week. They travel to Concordia-Irvine for two on Tuesday and then host the NAIA So. Cal Classic later in the week.
