Maya Duchesne joined the Biola Eagles Women’s Basketball staff in the fall of 2024, stepping in as the lead assistant.
Duchesne came to Biola from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington where she worked as the Sports Information Director.
DuChesne played women’s basketball at Northwest University from 2019–2024. During her career at NU, she played in 119 games, started in 115 and totaled 3,800 minutes. DuChesne scored 1,147 points, averaging 9.6 a game. She also collected 375 rebounds, 345 assists, 172 steals and 11 blocks. Additionally, Duchesne was an All-Conference Honorable Mention, a three-time Academic All-Conference selection and a two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete. She played under head coach Ken Crawford, a former Biola basketball coach.
DuChesne graduated with her Bachelor’s of Arts in Digital Marketing at Northwest University in 2023 and went on to earn her Master’s in Athletic Leadership from Northwest in 2024.
DuChesne graduated from Snohomish High School in 2019. She was a four-year varsity player and four-year team captain for girl’s basketball and golf teams. She helped lead her basketball team to three state tournament appearances under Washington State Hall of Fame coach Ken Roberts.
DuChesne comes from a basketball family—her father, Nate, played at the University of Montana and has an extensive coaching career. He most recently coached at Portland State but previously coached at the University of Montana, Edmonds Community College, Stanwood High School, LaConner High School and Cashmere High School. Her brother, Luke, is the head boys’ basketball coach at Ferndale High School in Washington.
Originally from Snohomish, Washington, DuChesne enjoys playing sports—especially basketball and pickleball. She also swims, is learning how to surf, enjoys watching Disney movies and the WNBA, and reading on her Kindle. Her current favorite Bible verse is Psalm 18:28–29, her favorite WNBA team is the Las Vegas Aces and her favorite basketball player of all time is Kelsey Plum. When asked why she chose Biola, DuChesne stated, “I want to play a small part in Biola's mission to equip young adults to be a light for Christ. I believe in what Biola stands for and am inspired daily by my athletes and colleagues."
