IRVINE, Calif. --- Biola batters one through four each picked up All-PacWest honors as announced on Tuesday evening. Isaiah Leon and Adiel Torres made their debut on the postseason list, while Noah Ruiz and James Whitman each took a step up from their third team selections last year.
The talented Eagles squad nabbed big wins at the end of the 2025 season to earn the No. 4 seed in the PacWest Championship. Biola is set to make its first postseason appearance in the NCAA DII era on Wednesday, taking on the top-seeded Westmont Warriors at 12:00 pm in Fresno, California.
The All-PacWest announcement came out on Tuesday ahead of the conference tournament.Â
Leon made his way to a First Team selection, as a top-three outfielder in the PacWest. He was lethal in the lineup for BU, slashing .393/.463/.619. He went for eight doubles and ranked second on the team with 10 homers and 40 RBI. He reached a hitting streak of 12 games and boasted 20 total multi-hit games, including five-straight before the final series.
Ruiz grabbed a Second Team All-PacWest nod at third base. Ruiz was a dynamic leadoff hitter for the Eagles, while covering the hot corner in the field. He brought speed and power, going for 16 doubles, one triple, and nine homers and leading the team with 12 steals, and 47 RBI despite batting leadoff. He slashed .391/.448/.614 and tallied a 17 game hitting streak. He earned a PacWest Player of the Week honor on March 24. He also had 24 multi-hit games this year, including a stretch of seven-straight games with at least two hits, where he hit 19-for-30 to bat .633 through the seven games.
Whitman was also recognized on the All-PacWest Second Team at first base. He was a stout cleanup hitter for the Eagles, slashing .341/.428/.659 in his junior season. The righty led the team in home runs with 14, while also offering 11 doubles and 38 RBI. He logged a 13-game hitting streak this season and tallied a total 13 multi-hit games. He offered a pair of 5-5 outings at the plate on the year. He was named PacWest Player of the Week on April 21.
BU designated hitter Torres saw the field for the first time this year and took advantage of his opportunity, claiming a Third Team All-PacWest selection. In his third career at bat, Torres logged a triple for his first career hit. He did not slow down from there, going for multiple hits in the next four games, including a two-for-two game with two home runs. He was ultimately named PacWest Player of the Week and NCBWA West Region Player of the Week. This season, Torres slashed .404/.477/.636 with 12 doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 39 RBI. He recorded a 21-game hitting streak and tallied 17 multi-hit games this season.
