LA MIRADA --- The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District List for Men's and Women's At-Large sports was announced on Tuesday. Women's Golf, Women's Water Polo, and Men's Water Polo earned praise with a total of nine Eagles grabbing the distinguished award.

Each CSC Academic All-District nominee needs to hit three main criteria to be eligible: must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically, must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50, and must compete in in 70 percent of the team's total events that were team scoring events for golf, or competed in 90 percent of the team's total
games played or have started 66 percent of the team's total games for water polo.

BU women's golf placed two on the list with excellent academic showings from Brady Turnquist and Rachel Shaw. Turnquist turned in a 3.69 GPA, while earning an undergraduate degree in business administration. Shaw capped off her junior season with a 3.92 GPA, while majoring in business administration as well. The two stars were a major part of the team's shining 2024 season, culminating in a PacWest Championship and a trip to the NCAA DII West Region Championships.

Biola women's water polo found similar team success, as conference champions of the WWPA and with a trip to the National Collegiate Women's Water Polo Championships. Lizzy Birch (3.96, Kinesiology), Maria Roldan Gonzalez (3.93, Graduate Certificate), Rachel Spadt (3.56, Liberal Studies Elementary Education), and Marija Mijuskovic (3.60, MBA) each well-exceeded the minimum academic requirements to make the CSC Academic All-District team. Birch and Roldan Gonzalez repeated the feat, making the list last year as well.

On the men's side, Nolan Rapp, Mitchell Carpenter and Matthew Rodriguez each earned the academic honor for a second-straight year. Rapp and Rodriguez boasted 3.80 and 3.55 grade-point averages, respectively, while majoring in public health and Carpenter came in with a GPA of 3.60 with a major in mathematics. The group matched the accomplishments of the women's golf and women's water polo teams with a conference crown of their own. The BU men's water polo squad were WWPA champs and went on to the National Collegiate Men's Water Polo Championships.

Turnquist, Roldan Gonzalez, and Rapp were all selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and will advance to the national ballot.
