Consistent Scoring

The Biola Softball team scored consistently in their 11-3 mercy against Montana State Billings at the Great Park Sports Complex.

LA MIRADA--- The Biola Softball team mercied Montana State Billings 11-3 at the Great Park Sports Complex to wrap up an overall great tournament for the Eagles who won four of their five games played.

Biola scored consistently against MSU Billings, scoring runs in the first, third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

Colby McClinton got the Eagles on the board in the first inning. The Freshman got on base with a single, stole second base and eventually scored off a Yellowjacket error (1-0). MSU Billings was quick to tie up the game, scoring a run of their own in the bottom of the first (1-1).

Biola put up three runs in the third inning, which grew their lead 4-1. Rilee Ruvalcaba, Jennifer Morinishi and McClinton had three-consecutive infield singles to load the bases for the Eagles. Cami Lara then got hit by a pitch which scored Ruvalcaba and then Brie Nowak came up and hit a sacrifice fly to score Biola's next run (3-1). BU's final run of the inning was scored in the next at-bat where the Yellowjacks made an error that allowed McClinton to score again (4-1).

MSU Billings made the next two outs which closed up the inning, but the Eagles' damage was done. Montana State Billings answered Biola's big inning with a single run in the bottom of the third, but were still trailing Biola by two runs (4-2).

BU came back in the fourth with another big inning where they stacked up some insurance runs and grew their lead, 8-2. Biola held MSU Billings scoreless in the bottom of the fourth and scored two more runs in the fifth to lead the Yellowjackets 10-2.
