CLAREMONT, Calif. --- Biola pushed the pace and ran by its competition on Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. The Strehle Track at Pomona College played host to three BU victories and many Biola strong performances.

The event crown for the 5000m run was none other than Hannah Champness. The senior posted a sub-18:00 time to collect the top spot amongst 26 competitors. Champness logged a time of 17:58.20 in her first collegiate attempt in the 5000. Wins from the Britta Holmberg and the Biola women's 4x400 relay made the day even better for the Eagles. Holmberg crossed the finish line with her best time in the 3000 steeplechase in the No. 1 spot at 11:34.45. The BU relay came in first at 3:53.99, thanks to Sophia Morris, Joley Sproul, Rebeka Preston and Shelby Rogers.

In the hammer throw, Pierce netted a throw of 43.95m for sixth place. Gigi Fierro added to the field event success with a seventh place throw in the discus throw at 37.41m.

Fifth place was the place to be in the short distance hurdles. Christian Lukens took fifth in the 110 hurdles with a mark of 15.86 and Rebeka Preston also grabbed fifth in the 100 hurdles at 15.05.
