Box Score OAKLAND, Calif --- Biola's PacWest opener came down to three explosive innings on offense for the Eagles. The BU squad logged a 17-4 win over Holy Names on Saturday afternoon, thanks to 14 runs through the final three frames.

Through six innings, the Eagles and Hawks looked to be evenly matched. A 4-3 scoreboard showed the hosting Hawks with a slight advantage, two-thirds through the contest.

A combination of big hits and an error from BU helped HNU grab the initial lead.

The second inning rally did not last long for Holy Names, as the Eagles responded in the top of the third. Matthew Nyce led things off with a double, before scoring on an Andrew Lujan single. A two-out two-RBI triple from Taylor Justus put the exclamation point on the three-run frame for BU.

The Hawks retook the lead in the bottom of the sixth with another two-run rally. Despite entering the game with a runner in scoring position and no one out, Jake Anderson maneuvered his way through the next few batters to put an end to the HNU attack in the sixth.

Once again, the Eagles had an answer. This time it came in the form of discipline at the plate. BU drew five walks, including three-straight walks to bring home two runs and load the bases. Bobby Brown did not hesitate with a new pitcher on the mound and sent the second pitch he saw over the outfield fence. The grand slam propelled the Eagles to a 9-4 lead.

Biola did not stop there, adding two more runs for an eight-run seventh. In total, 12 hitters saw a plate appearance in the inning.

The seven-run lead was good enough but the offense was not done. Brown did the unthinkable and picked up a second grand slam. The BU squad added a four-piece in the eighth thanks to Brown's blast and another two-piece in the ninth to collect 17 runs in the contest.

Anderson brought the Eagles home with dominant pitching through four innings of work. The sophomore earned his first win as an Eagle and recorded six strikeouts, while only allowing one hit and one walk.

Biola finished out game two of the doubleheader later that night against Holy Names.
