Box Score
SAN DIEGO, Calif. ---
Biola Men's Water Polo (0-4) matched Pomona-Pitzer (3-1) with three goals each in the first and third quarters. However, the Sagehens powered past the Eagles with an eight score second quarter which proved to be the difference in the 18-10 loss.

The Eagles continue to show signs of promise as the first team in school history continues to collect first time moments throughout the first weekend of play at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, California.

Biola held its first lead in program history as the Eagles outscored the Sagehens 3-2 during the first quarter of play. While the Sagehens would come back to tie the game at 3-3, Eagle's goalkeeper Mitchel Carpenter recorded six saves on nine shots in the first quarter.

Carpenter, who played the entirety of the game in the cage for Head Coach Rick Nordell, logged 17 saves with a .486 save percentage.

An eight score second quarter from the Sagehens was enough to earn the NCAA Division III powerhouse program the victory. Outside of the third quarter, the Eagles drew even in both the first and third quarters and were only outscored by three in the final quarter of play.

Offensively, the Eagles matched their best game of the season tallying a double-digit score for the second time in program history. Seven players logged a goal with Luke Franklin, Nolan Rapp and Will Tibbetts logging two scores each. Of the seven players to score, Braeden Marsolini found the back of the net for the first time this season.

Through the first weekend of play, the Eagles have nothing to hand their heads on. They opened the season against the No.1 UCLA Bruins, reigning back-to-back national champions, faced off against No. 5 Pepperdine and doubled their scores from their first contest, while showing promise in both the 10-7 loss to Westcliff and the 18-10 loss to Pomona-Pitzer.

Biola has ten days to prepare for its next contest as the Eagles will host Westcliff for the first home contest in program history. Biola's home games will be hosted at the Splash Aquatic Center just across La Mirada Blvd. from Biola's campus.
