Box Score
SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- After falling the No. 1 ranked team in the country earlier in the day, the upstart Biola Eagles made positive strides in a 10-7 loss to Westcliff.

Biola tripled its goals scored in its second game in program history, while the Eagles took on the Warriors at the Triton Invite in sunny San Diego, California.

Freshman keeper, Mitchell Carpenter, recorded 12 saves in the net for the Eagles, posting a .545 save percentage. After the game, Head Coach Rick Nordell praised the tremendous growth he's seen from his freshman goalkeeper since he saw him play earlier this summer. Carpenter's work between the pipes held the Warriors to just 3-for-8 on the power play and 0-for-1 from the penalty spot.

Defensively, Nolan Rapp and Luke Franklin shined for the Eagles. Rapp recorded four steals while Franklin drew five exclusions in the game. Christian Trapp and Maxwell Osborn each drew two exclusions as Westcliff had a player excluded or a penalty a total of 10 times on the afternoon.

Five Eagles found the back of the Warriors' net in the second contest of the day. Nolan Rapp and Osborn each scored two goals, becoming Biola's first men's water polo players to record multi-score games. Kenny Wulf and Matt Vinson scored their first goals at Biola while Franklin scored his second goal in as many games.

Osborn added two assists to go along with his two scores. Will Tibbetts, Matthew Rodriguez and Dominic Hidalgo-Valecillo each recorded an assist as well.

The Eagles are still building chemistry with each other but are heading in the right direction and eagerly await their next contest. Nordell continues to emphasize keeping the focus on November and becoming better and better as the team logs more time together.

Biola will be back in action on Sunday for the final two games of the Triton Invitational. The Eagles face off against No. 5 Pepperdine at 10:40 a.m. and conclude the tournament facing RV Pomona-Pitzer at 2:40 p.m.

Biola will have another chance at this Westcliff team in just about two weeks when they host the Warriors in their home opener on September 15.
