LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Both Biola tennis teams concluded last week with convincing victories over Whittier College that displayed impressive depth. Both teams collected points at the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions on the way to shutting out the Poets while
Esther Lee and
Lauren Lee also excelled at the top of the ladder on the women's side. After cruising to 6-2 win in doubles, both Lees earned straight-set victories in singles:
Lauren Lee won every game of her 6-0, 6-0 win while
Esther Lee became unstoppable in the second set of her 6-4, 6-0 victory that clinched the match.
On the men's side, David Garcia and Derek James combined for three of the Eagles' four points while Quentin Lau came up with a big performance at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win in his first singles competition in 19 days. Head Coach David Goodman's player will all have a few days to prepare for their only match of the week. But the Eagles will need to ensure they stay sharp as the men's and women's opponents both carry three wins into the week.

BIOLA (2-2) vs FRESNO PACIFIC (3-0): Saturday March 2 at 2 p.m. \\ Live Video \\ Live Stats
WTEN: The Sunbirds are playing their first season of women's tennis since 2014 and are off to a great start with three-straight wins. Fresno Pacific's roster is even younger than Biola's with six freshman, a sophomore and a junior but that hasn't hampered them in the slightest. The Sunbirds have yet to surrender a set or face a tiebreaker in any singles or doubles match this season. But this is their first true roadtrip of the season, as FPU will battle Concordia on Friday before traveling to Biola on Saturday.
