With a three-game road trip to Hawaii coming next week for Biola, this Saturday's matchup against Fresno Pacific presents an excellent opportunity to create momentum for the Eagles as they head into the final 10 conference games of the season. The Sunbirds establishment as a top-four team in the conference has been one of the biggest surprises of the PacWest so far this season and Fresno Pacific has definitely done the work to make it stick. The Sunbirds have won every PacWest game they have played against teams below them in the conference standings and have only lost to 10-1 Dominican and 9-1 Hawaii Pacific through the first part of their schedule. Fresno Pacific's defense leads the conference in forced turnovers per game at 20.4 on average and opposing three-point field goal percentage at 27.4. But the Sunbirds played the majority of their PacWest games at home to start the conference schedule so this week starts a series of important road trips that may present them with new challenges. Fresno Pacific starts their week on Thursday with a road game at Azusa Pacific before coming to Chase Gym on Saturday. Coming into the start of the roadtrip, the Sunbirds have fout women averaging at least 10 points per game and have scored at least 70 points in five of their last six games.
ABOUT LAST WEEK: Biola dropped a tough one to Azusa Pacific last Saturday as the Cougars continued their impressive winning streak to begin PacWest play. The Eagles still shot 40 percent on the night but a number of scoring runs from the Cougars just created too much distance for Biola to cover in the second half. Head Coach
Alan Nakamura's group keep the offense sharp in Tuesday's exhibition against Westcliff and scored 80 points while adding stifling defense that limited the Warriors to nine points or fewer ain three quarters and shut them out over the final eight and a half minutes of the game.
