BIOLA (8-8, 6-4 PacWest) vs AZUSA PACIFIC (14-3, 11-0 PacWest): Saturday, Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. \\ Live Stats \\ Live Video ($7.95/game)
The Eagles obviously have their work cut out for them with a road game against the team that's on an 11-game winning streak and leading the conference standings. But there are a few trends that point to a rebound for the Eagles after Azusa Pacific earned a convincing victory in Chase Gym on December 15. The Cougars are 9-0 on the road this season but suffered two of their three losses at the Felix Event Center before starting their long winning streak. Biola also has a winning record on the road this year at 4-3 and defeated the Cougars at APU as recently as two seasons ago when Head Coach Alan Nakamura's team won 74-69. This year's Eagles also come into Saturday's contest with improved rebounding and shooting, two factors that played big roles in Azusa Pacific's victory last month. Biola averaged eight makes from three-point range during three games last week, compared to just three during the APU game, and has outrebounded its opponent in four-straight contests. But there's no question that the Eagles will need to continue their recent success if they're after a win because the Cougars have show no signs of having an "off" game during their 11-0 start to the PacWest schedule. Azusa Pacific has scored 75 points or more in seven-straight games and in 10 of its matchups since November 29.

LAST WEEK:
The Eagles rectified their scoring over their three games last week, taking two wins to finish their tough Bay Area road trip with a 3-1 mark and maintain a fifth-place standing in the PacWest table. After being restricted to 45 points or fewer in back-to-back games, Head Coach Alan Nakamura's group averaged 70 points per game last week and shot over 35 percent from the field in each of their last three contests. And that's come from a true team effort because six women posted double-figure scoring efforts for Biola last week. Jazz Benn and Danita Estorga both surpassed the 10-point threshold twice while senior Jessica Shill sest a new career-high with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting in Biola's 82-55 win over Academy of Art. Shill and her teammates also concluded the trip with a fundamentally sound effort against Holy Names that produced solid defense and a 93 percent mark at the free-throw line. The Eagles limited Holy Names to seven points or fewer in two quarters last Saturday while out-rebounding the Hawks 34-29 in the contest.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:
The Eagles' sequence of road games will cease briefly next week when Biola hosts Westcliff University for an exhibition on Tuesday night and Fresno Pacific on Saturday for another PacWest contest. Tuesday's matchup with Westcliff will be the Eagles' first contest at Chase Gym in three weeks while Biola won't return home for PacWest action until February 12 after playing the Sunbirds on the 26th. Biola will conclude January and start the month of February in Hawaii for a three game swing with Chaminade, Hawaii Pacific and Hawaii Hilo before eventually concluding the regular-season schedule with five-straight home games.
