BIOLA (1-3) vs. NORTHEASTERN STATE (1-3): Friday Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. \\ Live Stats \\ Live Video

Friday will be Biola's first all-time meeting with the RiverHawks, a team that is surrending 64 points per game through its first four contests. Northeastern State has two scorers averaging double figure points in Bailee Eldred (12.8 ppg) and Caylin Long (11.3), but the RiverHawks have had trouble generating the offense they need from the entire team to come out on the winning end of contests. Like La Sierra, Northeastern State centers its offense around the key and does not take many three-pointers, averaging just over six made three-pointers a contest. So the Eagles might be best served trying to turn the game into a fast-paced shootout to try to get the RiverHawks out of their system. Historically, Northeastern State has had difficulty on the road and has finished with 12 wins or fewer each of the last five seasons

BIOLA (1-3) vs. No. 13  NORTHWEST NAZARENE (4-0): Saturday Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. \\  Live Stats \\ Live Video

The Eagles will meet West-Region power Northwest Nazarene in Southern California for the second-straight year and will have plans to repeat last year's victory over the Nampa, Idaho-based opponent. Last November, the Eagles came up with a second-half surge that clipped the Nighthawks, 67-64, before Northwest Nazarene raced through the GNAC and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Biola benefitted from great performances from Tatum Brimley, Sara Dougan and DeMoria White in last year's win against the Nighthawks and they'll only have Brimley dressed for Saturday's matchup against the No. 13-ranked team in the nation. But the Eagles sank 10 three-pointers in last year's winning effort and can still shoot the lights out this season. Plug in Jazz Benn's dependable performance and a good shooting night from Biola's new No. 5, Danita Estorga, and the Eagles have the pieces they need to come up with another upset.

ABOUT LAST WEEK:

The Eagles continued their early-season trend of getting into the flow of their system at key moments in both contests last week. But the difference in Saturday's win against La Sierra was Biola's strong play in the first quarter to jump out to the early lead rather than using their run to close a gap. Long-distance shooting was pivotal for Nakamura's group in both contests, as three-straight three-pointers in the third quarter of the Tarleton State game sparked a 16-point swing that brought Biola within two points late in the third. Then three field goals from deep helped the Eagles pull ahead 9-2 just over two minutes after tip-off against La Sierra. Biola would set a new program record for made three-pointers with 17 in its 86-54 blowout of La Sierra. Hopefully that array of sharp-shooting will help the Eagles start the next two games locked-in as well and set to score early and often.
