After a difficult season in 2013, the women's soccer program rebounded under Elkins' leadership in 2014. The team got off to the best start of a season in program history with wins in six straight games to begin the season and an 11-1 record through the first 12 games. The team finished fourth in the regular season conference standings and advanced past the GSAC Tournament First Round for the second time during Elkins' tenure with a 3-0 first round victory over No. 20 Concordia.

The Eagles had a rough 2013 season that saw them go through an up-and-down preseason before having a difficult time in conference play with a 3-6-1 record. They had an early exit in the postseason, which they made as the second-to-last seed, with a first-round defeat at the hands of No. 11 Vanguard.

Elkins guided the Eagles back to the GSAC Tournament in 2012 with a third-place GSAC finish. Biola finished with 12 wins--the most since the 2004 season--and reached the GSAC title game for the first time. The Eagles finished the regular season 12-17-1 including a 7-3 record in GSAC play. Biola opened the GSAC tournament with a 3-0 win over Hope International, then stunned the No. 2 Seed Westmont 2-1 in Santa Barbara. It was just the Eagles' second win at Westmont in program history. Biola then advanced to the GSAC Championship Game looking for the upset. However, despite a late rally, the Eagles fell just short, losing 2-1 to No. 1 Vanguard.

In 2011, the Eagles finishined tied for second in the GSAC with a 6-2-0 conference mark and posted an overall record of 10-6-1. Biola reached the first round of the GSAC Tournament, hosting The Master's College. The teams played to a 1-1 draw but the Mustangs advanced in the tournament field with a 4-2 win in penalty kicks. Despite the solid season, the Eagles were passed over for a trip to the NAIA Tournament.

The season before, Elkins guided the Eagles to their first post-season appearance in five years with a sixth-place finish in the Golden State Athletic Conference standings and a 6-5-6 overall record and 3-2-5 conference mark. The Eagles would fall 3-1 to top-seed Cal Baptist in the first round match in Riverside. Biola would play an NAIA record 10 overtime matches in 2010, going 3-1-6 in those contests.

Elkins helped turn around a program which had struggled the two years prior to his arrival. In his first season, Biola finished with a 5-7-3 overall record, then reached the .500 mark in 2009 with a 6-6-3 record.

Elkins became the fifth coach in program history when he took over, but was no stranger to Biola's women's soccer team or the GSAC in general. After playing four seasons and coaching one other at GSAC rival Westmont College, Elkins joined the coaching staff at Biola as an assistant under Mike Silzer.

Elkins also spent four season at Maranatha High school, coaching the boys varsity team to three-straight undefeated seasons in Delphi League play.
