Michaila Martin and the No. 22 Biola Women's Soccer team competed in two relatively close contests this past week, including one 2-1 overtime thriller, and Martin played a key role in each victory.

The sophomore transfer had two goals and one assist on the week to jump from two points to seven on the season as she helped Biola move to 6-0-1 through its preseason schedule.

The first two of those five points came when she opened the scoring in the eventual 2-1 overtime win at UC Merced. This was her first goal as an Eagle and came in the 45th minute of what was a 104-minute game. She got on the board by heading home a free kick from Amanda Otto.

Martin closed the Eagles' scoring in a 3-1 win over SOKA University on Saturday in the NAIANetwork.com Women's Soccer Game of the Week. She scored the third of Biola's three goals that opened the scoring in the first half by intercepting a SOKA pass and burying in into the low back post.

She also had an assist in that match when she setup Brittni Coffeen with a through ball into the box on what was the actual game-winning goal.

Martin and the Eagles open their conference slate this week with a match at Menlo on Tuesday and another at home against San Diego Christian on Saturday.
