Christine Douglas closed out her stellar Biola career with an impressive performance at the NAIA National Championships last week, helping the Eagles to a 4-1 record and to the semifinals for the seventh time in program history and the first since 2008. She was named to the NAIA All-Tournament team for her efforts.
The senior outside hitter from Cypress recorded a team-best 73 kills in Biola's five tournament matches, averagin 3.65 kills per set. She also had 11 blocks, 21 digs, four assists and two aces.
Douglas reached double-figures in kills in each of Biola's tournament matches including 16 in each of the final three matches. She posted a season-best .519 attack percentage in Biola's quarterfinal win over MidAmerica Nazarene University with 16 kills in 27 swings with just two attack errors.
Douglas wraps up her career with 1,465 career kills which places her seventh on the all-time list at Biola. She played just three years at Biola after transfering from Concordia for her sophomore year. Douglas also earned NAIA All-America honors for the third-straight season, earning first-team honors after leading the GSAC and ranking in the top 20 in the NAIA with 3.92 kills per set.
