Biola Women's Soccer played just one game during the week of Sept. 6 - Sept. 12, but Taylor Venegas' performance in that lone victory was worthy of that week's Biola University Athletics Athlete of the Week honor.

After Biola Women's Soccer and Pomona-Pitzer played a scoreless first half on Sept. 12 Venegas and the Eagles' offense exploded in half number two to earn a 3-1 victory on the road.

All three of the Eagles' goals came off the foot of Venegas who netted Biola's first hat trick since Victoria Dalla Zanna had one in a 7-0 win over Arizona Christian in 2013.

The goals were Venegas' first three of the season, coming in Biola's fifth game. After the performance she sits just one goal behind Samantha Verduzco for the team lead.

She scored three different ways and all in very rapid succession. Her first goal came in the 47th minute when she beat the Sagehens' keeper one-on-one. The second goal gave Biola a 2-1 lead in the 54th minute as she was on the scoring half of a two-on-one rush. The final tally was in minute 89 and came off a free ball from a corner kick into the box.

She and the Eagles are back into action Sept. 16 on the road at UC Merced (5-0-1) as they look to improve to 5-0-1 in the 2015 season.
