Biola Track & Field competed at the oxy Invite on May 9, and Brandon Berz set a new personal-best and qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, making him the latest Biola Athlete of the Week.

He finished 21st of 35 runners in the 3,000m steeplechase to break his previous personal-best and secure his spot as the second male on Biola's national championship team.

He ran the race in 9:27.59 to hit the 'B' National qualifying standard. He and 14 other student-athletes will compete at the NAIA Nationals May 21-23.
