It was impossible to tell that Anjie Amezquita is just a freshman based off her performance at this weekend's Golden State Athletic Conference Softball Tournament.

The Eagles' rookie outfielder went 5-for-11 (.455) in Biola's four games in Irvine, and one of those hits was a two-run bomb in the bottom of the sixth inning of a game against No. 21 Vanguard that secured a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over the Lions.

Amezquita was biggest when it mattered the most this weekend, getting that game-winning blast and starting Biola's sixth-inning comeback in the back-and-forth game against San Diego Christian that ultimately clinched a national tournament berth for the Eagles. She was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in that one.

Amezquita was also flexible in the field for Biola, splitting time between right and center field as she filled in defensively for Brooke Madrid in one game.

She and the Eagles find out their landing spot for the NAIA National Championship Opening Round this Thursday evening.
