Biola University Athletics

Amy Weststeyn had a huge week in two wins for Biola on Oct. 7 and Oct. 11. She led the team in kills in both wins, getting 21 in a 5-set win over Westmont and 16 in a sweep of Hope International.

She improved her season attacking percentage to .461 after hitting over .600 in both of the matches. Weststeyn ranks No. 1 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in this category.

She was especially key late in the match against Westmont. She and Alyssa Mason took over the match after Biola was surprisingly faced with a 2-1 set deficit to the Warriors. She ended up with her second-highest kill output of the season (21) and used three solo blocks and six block assists to help Biola climb back into control and get the win.

She is inside the top-25 players in the nation in four statistical categories through the first 22 matches of the season, including: hitting percentage (.461), blocks/set (1.24), total blocks (98) and kills/set (3.67).

Weststeyn and the Eagles kick off the new week with a marquee matchup at No. 3 Concordia on Tuesday. It is their only matchup of the week.
