Biola junior right-side hitter/middle blocker Chelsee Arnitz had an incredible week, recording a team-best 37 kills and posting a .679 attack percentage as the Eagles were a perfect 4-0 at the 2012 Biola University/Red Lion Hotel-Anaheim Summer Slam last week.
Arnitz was near-perfect in her four matches, committing just one error in 53 swings with opponents keeping just 15 of her attack attempts in play. Two of those matches came against NAIA Top 10 teams including Artniz' best showing. Against No. 7 Rocky Mountain College (Mont.), she put together one of the best individual matches in program history, recording 11 kills on 12 swings for a .917 attack percentage. The lone attack she had which didn't result in a kill tipped off the top of the net and was hit back over to the Eagles by the Bears'. The resulting set went back out to Arnitz who slammed it down for a kill.
Over the four-match stretch, Arnitz added 14 blocks including seven in Biola's dominating sweep over No. 7 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho). She also had six aces, five digs and two assists.
For the season, Arnitz has 59 kills and a ranks second in the GSAC with a .491 attack percentage.
Biola returns to action this weekend, traveling to Irvine for the 2012 Concordia University/Crown Plaza Labor Day Festival on Friday and Saturday.
