Trevor Treinen earns the first Biola Athletics Athlete of the Week honor of the spring semester thanks to a thrilling performance in the Eagles' road contest against rival Azusa Pacific.

The junior sharpshooter went off for 32 points in the Eagles' hard-fought loss in the rivalry reboot against the Cougars. He was 11-of-18 from the floor and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc in helping Biola come within six points of an upset of the top team in the conference. His scoring helped BU lead the game for 22 minutes.

The Eagles also played Dixie State out in Utah earlier in the week, where Treinen had 11 points and helped BU come within one last-possession basket of winning the game over the Trailblazers. Despite going 0-2 on the week, it should be a confidence-building week for Dr. Dave Holmquist's team.

Treinen is now leading the team in scoring with 15.9 points-per-game. He's averaging a team-best 15.4 in the Eagles' seven conference contests to this point in the season and has scored double-digits in 14 of the 15 games so far.

He and the Eagles play Point Loma on the road on Thursday of this week and then return home to host fierce rival Concordia-Irvine at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
