Philip Westwood and the rest of Head Coach David Goodman's men and women's tennis teams competed at the annual ITA-NAIA West Regional Tournament at Biola this past weekend.

Westwood had the farthest run of any competitor as he made it into the men's open singles semifinals. He came up against tough competition in the semis and suffered a tough loss at the hands of a first-year player from Westmont.

Prior to that loss he earned his way to the semifinals with a gritty tiebreaker win over a player from Arizona Christian. The junior No. 1 player won the first set of his semifinal before falling just short in the second set and breaker. It was an exceptional performance that nearly had him playing for a chance to get to the ITA National Tournament.

He and the rest of the Eagles get back to training now and will return to competitive action in January.
