Kathryn Ashford had a fantastic week for Head Coach Dee Henry as the twm worked a 1-1 record in matches with Hawai'i at Hilo and the University of the Southwest. The senior was the only Eagle to earn singles and a doubles wins in both matches.

Ashford helped the Eagles to an 8-1 victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday afternoon. She won her singles match in dominant fashion with a 6-1; 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles. She also combined with Brooke Sanford for a pair of fantastic doubles wins on the week. She and Sanford won 8-1 against USW and 8-2 over a team for UHH.

In a tightly contested 5-4 match against Hawai'i at Hilo Ashford had no problems with her opponent at No. 2 singles. She dismissed Bianca Novotna in straight sets (6-4; 6-1) to earn her third singles win of the season and second of that week. Her and Sanford are now tied for the team lead with five doubles wins this season.

Ashford and the Eagles continue their Golden State Athletic Conference schedule this week with a Thursday home matchup with Lewis-Clark State College.
