Record-Breaking Relays

Eagles set program marks in the women’s 4x100 and 4x400 relays inside Hilmer Lodge Stadium

April 17, 2026

WALNUT, Calif. --- The Biola Eagles track and field teams delivered a record-breaking and momentum-filled weekend across the Mt. SAC Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational, highlighted by three school records and a surge of personal-best performances.

Mt. SAC Relays

The Eagles opened competition at the historic Mt. SAC Relays, where the women's relay squads etched their names into the program record book.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Hannah Hanson, Audrey Mousa, Ariana Quintana, and Caden Hunter sprinted to a 47.34 finish to place 12th overall and set a new program record. Later, the 4x400-meter relay of Quintana, Hanson, Eboselulu Omofoma, and Amelia Trautman followed suit with a 10th-place finish in 3:45.85, adding another school mark.

On the men's side, Quinn Shavey, Donovan Tommy, Tyler Poltl, and Matthew Kaloustian combined for a strong 41.10 in the 4x100-meter relay to place fifth. The 4x400-meter relay team of Shavey, Richie Nawa'akoa, Jack Saptya, and Joshua Widdows clocked 3:15.54 to finish 10th.

Individually, Omofoma continued her standout season with an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, while also breaking her own school record in the event with a time of 13.82 later in the weekend. Donovan Tommy also competed in the men's 100 meters, placing 32nd.

Bryan Clay Invitational

Biola carried its momentum into the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Stadium, where the distance group and field event athletes added to an already impressive weekend.

Melt von Molendorff led the way by breaking his own school record in the men's 5,000 meters, crossing in 14:15.93. On the women's side, the 5K and 800-meter groups saw a wave of progress, highlighted by heat wins from Elizabeth Kurtz and Jake Sorani, along with significant personal-best performances from Kurtz, Grace Regan, Claire Lesiw, and others.

In the field events, Reese Eckard paced the women in the high jump with a seventh-place finish and a personal-best clearance, while Robby Porter placed ninth on the men's side. Faith Winningham led the women's hammer throw group with a 17th-place finish, and Logan Thompson added a personal-best mark in the men's competition.

Across both meets, the Eagles turned in a standout weekend of progression, with a large group of athletes recording personal bests—particularly in the sprint events.

Audrey Mousa, Caden Hunter, Ariana Quintana, and Amelia Trautman each posted PRs on the women's side, while Kaloustian, Shavey, Tommy, Poltl and Nawa'akoa, and Brayden Watson highlighted a deep and improving men's sprint group.

The distance squad also made major strides, with multiple athletes recording significant time drops in the 5K and 800 meters, signaling strong momentum as the postseason approaches.

The Eagles will wrap up competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational as they continue building toward the championship stretch of the season.
