The Eagles deliver standout efforts at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and Leopard Invitational

LONG BEACH, Calif. --- The Biola track and field team split competition across two meets this weekend, taking on a loaded Division I field at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate while distance athletes, throwers and vaulters competed at the Leopard Invitational in La Verne.

The Eagles faced a primarily Division I field and turned in several standout performances at Long Beach State University.

In the hurdles, Eboselulu Omofoma led the women with a seventh-place finish in the 100m hurdles (13.82), while Joshua Widdows placed sixth in the men's 110m hurdles (14.24) while Brayden Watson added a ninth-place finish in the 400m hurdles, clocking 53.98.

Biola's sprinters held their own in deep fields, highlighted by Donovan Tommy's 10.69 in the 100m and a 21.64 in the 200m. Matthew Kaloustian delivered one of the top finishes on the track, placing 14th in the 200m with a time of 21.37, while Quinn Shavey added a strong double in the 200m (21.54) and 400m (48.73).

In the field events, Colby Shamblin led the way with a fourth-place finish in the javelin (63.78m), while Hope Willis placed 11th on the women's side with a throw of 38.58m.

Leopard Invitational
Biola's distance runners, throwers and vaulters competed at the Leopard Invitational hosted by University of La Verne inside Ortmayer Stadium.

The Eagles found success in the field events. Caleb Pook cleared 4.40m in the pole vault to take third place. Aidan Erickson followed with a sixth-place finish (4.25m), while Malachi Christensen and Dakotah Phillips each cleared 3.95m.

On the women's side, Keeley Chard placed fifth in the pole vault (3.05m), while Faith Winningham led the hammer throw group with a sixth-place mark of 47.59m and Leah Gilmore followed in eighth (43.48m).

In distance events, Caitlin Chea and Miranda Zakhar represented the Eagles in the 3000m steeplechase, with Chea finishing in 12:20.44 and Zakhar crossing in 12:25.28.

The Eagles will continue their competitive weekend at the La Verne Leopard Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays.
