Eagles Stack Strong Marks Across the Board at Pomona-Pitzer

Biola delivers a balanced day of performances at Claremont meet

CLAREMONT, Calif --- The Biola Track and Field teams traveled to Pomona-Pitzer for a one-day meet, turning in top finishes across multiple events.

In the sprints, Donovan Tommy led the way for the Eagles, placing fifth in the 100m with a time of 10.76, while Steven Cuevas ran 11.23 in the same event. Tommy also returned in the 200m, finishing 12th in 21.98, followed by Cuevas with a time of 22.66. In the 400m, Gauge Thompson ran 51.12, just ahead of Micah Jones in 51.70, while Gabriel Da Silva posted 54.04. On the women's side, Ariana Quintana delivered a 58.14 performance.

In the middle distance, Edgar Ortega ran 4:02.30 in the 1500m, while Isaac Ginete posted 2:01.87 in the 800m.

On the hurdles side, Brayden Watson led the way in the 110m hurdles with a fourth-place finish in 15.08, and Caleb Pook ran 15.20 in seventh. Joaquin Ramirez highlighted the 400m hurdles with a third-place finish in 54.97, while Stuart Lau ran 56.85. On the women's side, Autumn Murray posted 1:07.41 and Carlota Romay Rega ran 1:06.55.

In the field events, Biola collected several strong performances across jumps and throws. In the triple jump, Aidan Erickson led the group with 12.29m, followed by Dakotah Phillips at 12.22m, Marco Smith at 12.16m, and Stuart Lau at 11.35m. On the women's side, Murray placed eighth in 11.20m, with Nina Navarette vaulting 10.65m.

In the long jump, Marco Smith finished sixth in the long jump at 6.53m, while Robby Porter jumped 6.17m. In the high jump, Da Silva and Jack Carlson each cleared 1.71m, while Elizabeth Casey placed seventh at 1.51m and Harmony Chennault cleared 1.30m.

In the pole vault, Pook led the Eagles with a fourth-place finish at 4.45m, followed by Phillips at 4.15m and Malachi Christensen at 3.85m. Navarette added an eighth-place finish at 3.20m.

The Eagles will be back on the track next weekend at the La Verne Leopard Invitational, LBSU Pacific Coast Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. Sac Relays.
