RIVERSIDE, Calif.---The Biola track & field teams finished a full day at the UCR Spring Track Classic.
Biola's field athletes competed across eight events, with Colby Shamblin, Kaiden Gonzales, and Eboselulu Omofoma earning podium finishes. Shamblin delivered the standout performance of the day, winning the javelin and breaking his own Biola Men's Track and Field School Record with a throw of 69.91. Gonzales and Omofoma recorded second place finishes. Gonzales finished second in the men's shot put with a throw of 14.71m and Omofoma was second in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.62m.
Hope Willis and Faith Winningham placed top five in a group of 22. Willis finished fourth (47.28m) and Winningham was fifth (46.15m). Willis also tabbed a fifth place finish in the discus with her throw of 47.52m.
The Eagles runners saw action in 14 events and recorded podium finishes in the men's and women's 4x200 races. Biola's men's A team had an exciting finish in the 4x200, finishing first of four teams which included Division I UCR and rival Azusa Pacific. Richie Nawa'akoa,

Tyler Poltl teamed up to record a time of 1:26.03.
Biola's women's A team—Hannah Hanson, Caden Hunter, Ariana Quintana, and Omofoma—placed third in the 4x200 with a time of 1:41.26.
Biola turned in strong performances in the 100, 200, and women's 400. In the men's 100-meter dash, Poltl and Shavey both placed in the top 10 of a 38-runner field, with Poltl leading the Eagles in fifth (10.91) and Shavey close behind in sixth with a personal best time of 10.92. On the women's side, Hunter paced Biola in the 100 with a 10th-place finish (12.30).
The Eagles continued their success in the 200, where Shavey (5th, 21.64) and Widdows (8th, 21.73) secured top-10 finishes for the men. Audrey Mousa led the women with a sixth-place finish (24.39), while Hunter added another top-10 performance, placing eighth (24.98).
In the women's 400, BU had three athletes set personal bests. Omofoma led Biola with a fourth place finish and time of 55.82. Quintana (10th, 57.80) and Hanson (11th, 58.04) also set personal bests.

Nawa'akoa in the 100 and 200 and Widdows in the 200 and 400.
Biola competes next in the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on Friday, March 27th.
