Eagles Shine on Senior Day

Biola sweeps podiums and celebrates seniors with standout performances in the pool and on the boards

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- On a celebratory Senior Day, the Biola swim and dive teams delivered a strong showing on both the boards and in the pool. The Eagles swept multiple top-three finishes across both relays and individual events.

"Today was a really emotional and heartfelt day for our seniors as we celebrated our final home meet at Lansing Pool," stated Head Coach, Nathan Harding. "We had a large senior class honored, and it was special to see them recognized in that setting." 
SWIM

Biola's women dominated the relays, sweeping the podium in both the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay as the A, B, and C teams finished first through third in each event. Angelina Ahmadi-Kashani led the distance group with a win in the 1000 freestyle (11:07.30), while Julia Hill added a third-place finish in the event. Paige Fast claimed first in the 500 freestyle and added a second-place finish in the 200 free.

The Eagles also swept the 200 freestyle behind Morgan Carles, Fast, and Emily Sheldon, while Kylie Montiel won the 50 freestyle and added a second-place finish in the 50 backstroke. Savanna Taylor placed second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 50 backstroke, while Chloe Colvard captured the 200 IM with a season-best time, followed by Addy McCullough in second. Emilee Elizondo highlighted the sprint group with a win in the 100 freestyle as McCullough added a third-place finish to complete another Biola sweep.

Meanwhile, the men opened Senior Day with strong relay performances, taking first and second in the 400 medley relay as Garrett Dillon anchored the top-three finish. Ronan Watts led the individual events with a win in the 200 freestyle, while Noah Hall added a third-place finish in the 1000 freestyle.

In the sprints, Benjamin Smith and Andrew Hanson went one-two in the 50 freestyle, and Koen Vos claimed first in the 100 freestyle, with Dillon adding a third-place finish. Alejandro Marchesini and Nathan Griffin finished first and second in the 50 backstroke, while Karter McNutt led a Biola podium sweep in the 50 breaststroke alongside Jack Snyder and Henry Bokma. The Eagles closed the meet with a win and runner-up finish in the 400 free relay.

DIVE

 
The morning air buzzed with excitement as Biola's divers took to the 1- and 3-meter boards on Senior Day.

Women's diving was led by Peyton Nelson, who took first on the 1-meter board with 271.10 points and added a second-place finish on the 3-meter board with 263.20. Teammates Lauren Smith (3rd, 1-meter) and Eliana Ko (4th, 1-meter; 3rd, 3-meter) also contributed key points.

Men's diving was highlighted by Caleb Pook, who captured first on both the 1- and 3-meter events with scores of 365.80 and 363.20. Zac Siewert added a second-place finish (1-meter), and Caleb Wenz  rounded out the podium with third place finish (1-meter).

"On the swimming & diving side, we continued to build momentum coming off our meet against Pomona-Pitzer and saw some great swims across the board," continued Harding. "Now we're excited to close the dual meet chapter and turn our full focus toward the conference meet next month."
