LA MIRADA --- Biola University Athletics once again proved its prowess in the academic world with additional awards rolling in. In a record-breaking year for Division II, the Eagles secured
191 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards, leading the PacWest Conference and ranking first nationally among Division II institutions without football and fewer than 20 overall teams.
The Division 2 Athletics Directors Association's Academic Achievement Awards honor student-athletes who maintain a
3.5 or higher GPA, complete at least two years of college coursework, and actively compete in their sport. This year's awards program set historic records, with
22,756 student-athletes recognized nationwide from 202 institutions.
Biola's 191 award winners not only topped the
PacWest's 1,272 total honorees but also positioned the Eagles among the nation's elite in academic performance relative to athletic program size.
