Eagles End a Successful Season

The softball team ended a successful season, losing 3-2 to Northwest Nazarene in the third round of the NCAA DII West Regional.

IRVINE, Calif.---The Biola softball team gave it their all in a thrilling game against Northwest Nazarene. The Nighthawks ended up holding down a 3-2 victory despite a seventh-inning jolt from the Eagles in the third round of the NCAA DII West Regional.

In the bottom of the seventh, Biola was chasing Northwest Nazarene 3-1 with one out and two runners on the bases. The Eagles then received their second out and then a NNU error allowed Biola to score a run, making it a one-run ballgame with runners on first and third.

Despite an incredible effort by Biola, the Nighthawks ended up getting the third out of the inning which resulted in the Eagles' 3-2 loss.

"I'm incredibly proud of my team," stated head coach Kristin Halte. "They fought really hard today. Our theme all year has been to keep the faith and I thought they did a good job in keeping the faith every inning no matter the situation."
