LOS ANGELES --- Biola swimming and diving opened up the four-day PCSC Conference Championships competition on Wednesday with a mix of diving and swimming events. The group of Eagles made a splash with five podium finishes and two event crowns.

Diving was the opening act and Caleb Pook continued his excellent freshman season on the board. Pook claimed first place in the 1M dive with a score of 294.00 through six dives to become conference champion. Luke Bartruff and Luke Hanson also came through with top-five finishes in the 1M dive for Biola.

The first school record reached was in the men's 1,000 free. BU newcomer Noah Hall nabbed a time of 9:29.45 to pick up a silver placement in the race, while hitting the school benchmark. Colin Snyder came in seventh in the same event with a time of 9:52.64, which ranks third in program history.

On the women's side, Mirsha Lora was near the school record with the second fastest time in program history at 10:30.80. The mark was good enough for fifth place on Wednesday. Kellynn Hayes followed Lora, nabbing sixth at 10:32.98.

Two relays followed the long distance race. The men's squad landed school records in both team races.

In the 800 free relay, Tanner Smith, Alex Ness, Alejandro Marchesini, and Jacob Haaksma corralled a silver medal. The group recorded a time of 6:45.61 to set the best mark in program history. Haaksma came through with the fastest leg in the final 200 at 1:40.94.

The Eagles also broke the school record in the 200 medley but the foursome also grabbed first place. Nathan Griffin started it off with the backstroke and was followed by James Gamette with the breaststroke, Matthew Trejo with the butterfly and Noah Taylor with the freestyle. The group posted a time of 1:33.19, knocking two seconds off their placement time.

Another podium finish came in the women's 800 relay. Liza Parahnevich, Kolya Vos, Morgan Kampfer, and Kellynn Hayes finished in third with a time of 7:40.42. Vos put together a strong run from the second spot with a 200 time of 1:53.37.

Biola will be right back to it on Thursday with another full day of competition at the East Los Angeles College Swim Stadium.
