Box Score LA MIRADA --- Biola Tennis Center played host to yet another Biola women's tennis win. Following Thursday's action, the Eagles remained perfect at home with 12 wins in La Mirada this season.

The midweek contest came against conference foe Academy of Art on a cloudy and chilly day. During the match, the official ITA DII National Rankings were released, naming Biola to No. 14. The team dropped four spots from a week ago but stayed within the top-15 with a 17-2 overall record entering the day.

Coming in a little beaten up and bruised, Biola knew it would have its work cut out against the visiting Urban Knights. Three tight matches took place in doubles but BU created separation on courts No. 2 and No. 3. Ines Diaz and Gaby Carvajal impressed with a 6-2 win, before Brooke Fager and Alexandria Mann clutched out the doubles point with a 6-4 victory.

The Eagles quickly went up by two, as the match switched to singles play. Colbeyshae Emery earned a win in the first set with her opponent retiring due to injury. ARTU responded in the No. 6 spot, taking their first point in straight-sets fashion.

The four remaining singles contests were evenly played with drama and tensions rising. Mary Brascia battled it out with Maria Casucci in the No. 2 spot and the two went the distance in three sets. Brascia scored the win in set one (6-2), before coming up short in a comeback effort in set two (4-6). The redshirt junior never gave up and dug deep to pull out the match win in a 6-4 third set.

The BU squad needed just one more point to secure the victory and the point came in from Lilly McNeill. The sophomore was the fourth to finish in singles play and collected back-to-back sets to win in three. The match-clincher marked her 13th overall singles win this season.

Despite finishing in straight-sets, Fager notched the next point for Biola on court No. 5. Long rallies and few mistakes made for a longer match but the junior from Spokane, Washington got the job done. Fager took the first set 7-6 and capped the match off with a 6-3 showing.

A back-and-forth affair took place on court No. 3 with ARTU winning set one and Mann taking
set two. The third set was highly contested but the visitors tallied their second point of the day.

With the final match wrapped up, the final score rested at 5-2 in Biola's favor, improving the team's overall record to 18-2. The team will be back in action at home once again, facing off against Concordia at 10:00 am.
