Box Score IRVINE, Calif. --- The 11th-ranked Biola Eagles (13-1) were rolling going into Saturday and kept things moving in the right direction with a win over Concordia. The 6-1 triumph marked the 10th-straight victory for BU shortly after climbing in the national poll to No. 11.
The opening three points fell the way of Biola. Doubles play featured a pair of sweeping wins from
Colbeyshae Emery and
Mary Brascia and
Alexandria Mann and
Brooke Fager. Both matches end in a 6-2 rout, giving BU the 1-0 lead.
Lilly McNeill added to her team-best streak of eight-straight singles wins from the No. 4 spot. A 6-1, 6-2 sweep began singles play to open up a two-point edge for Biola.
Good fortune continued on court number one with Emery taking care of business for the Eagles. The righty tallied a second straight-set win for BU with the same score line as her teammate McNeill.
The match-clinching point would have to wait a little longer as CUI responded on court No. 3. The hosting squad stayed alive with their lone solo win to bring the score to 3-1.
Ines Diaz clinched the victory for the BU Eagles with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Diaz remained undefeated in 2022 on Saturday, helping the Eagles secure the win with her sixth singles win of the season.
With the victory in hand, the final two matches went to a tiebreaker third set. Brascia notched the clutch finish with a 7-5 win in set three, while Fager bounced back for a 10-3 final set win. The strong finish boosted the Eagle lead to 6-1 for another impressive conference triumph.
The Eagles will return to action at home on Monday with a top-tier matchup against No. 7 Hawaii Pacific.
